About Me
In the end, we are all just stories...
I was born on an April day when the jacarandas bloom, filling my hometown, Xalapa, Veracruz, with bursts of violet. Since childhood, curiosity has been my guide, empathy my constant companion, and a deep love for human connection the driving force behind everything I do. My path has taken me through International Relations, Law, Geography, Global Change, and Sustainability. But beyond degrees and titles, what truly defines me is an insatiable wonder for the world—our roots, our stories, the invisible threads that bind us to time and place.
My journey has also taken me through the worlds of film, the public and private sectors, and humanitarian work. As a legal advisor for asylum seekers at Mexico’s southern border, I stood alongside those searching for a place to belong. As an IT teacher for children in remote and vulnerable communities of Veracruz, I saw firsthand how knowledge can transform lives. And for 17 years as a wedding and documentary photographer, I have been privileged to witness and preserve love in its purest, most colorful form.

Hannah Arendt once said, “With each birth, something uniquely new comes into the world.” I believe this deeply. Every person, every life, every fleeting moment is unrepeatable. Maybe that is why photography has always fascinated me—not just as an art, but as a way of giving permanence to the ephemeral, of making visible what might otherwise be forgotten. Through my lens, I do not only capture the essence of people and places; I leave behind a testimony of my own passage through this world, a trace of what I have witnessed, felt, and cherished.
This passion led me to create the Festival Internacional de Fotografía Distancia Focal, a nonprofit organisation in Mexico that seeks to bring photography closer to people. I believe photography is more than an image—it is a language, a voice for those who have none, a way of making visible those who are often unseen. Through this initiative, I have worked to take photography beyond galleries, bringing it to the streets, to children and adults, to communities where images can become stories, memories, and even tools for change.

Photography, to me, is more than light and shadow—it is presence, memory, and truth. It is my way of embracing the beauty of human existence and sharing it with the world. Because in the end, we are all just stories waiting to be told, and I want to help tell them—one image at a time.
